Messier 56
07/10/2012

Another fine globular cluster in the constellation Lyra. This object is over 30,000 light years from earth and is over 80 light years across. Think about what was going on here on earth 30,000 years ago! This cluster is not especially bright, but it is bright enough to be captured photographically even with moderate light pollution.
