The Propeller Nebula
07/29/2014

The Propeller Nebula is in the constellation Cygnus, and there is not a lot of information about it available. Distance, etc.

This image is an experiment, as I only used Ha and SII data to construct a psuedo-RGB version. The object is nearly devoid of OIII data, and I just hate some of the garish red treatments of similiar regions. This presentation seems pleasing to me, highlights the structure, and isn't overboard on the blood spattered red I often see on Ha/SII dominated objects.
